It's well researched and documented that millionaires and other super achievers read the equivalent of two books per week on average. That comes out to 104 books within the course of a year. With that amount of knowledge intake, it doesn't come as a surprise when they reach extremely high levels of success. On the other side of the coin, the average person reads less than six books per year. This lack of priority on self-education is one of the biggest reasons the average person does not become successful.
I just love reading-even if it could really take a long while before I could finish a certain book or even if I still have lots of books in the house which I haven't finished reading yet. And I always find it a delight whenever I chance upon a real nice bookstore on the way to wherever I am going.
You might ask, but what is the book your mother gave you and did change your life? I am not going to tell you! The reason for this is that you can get disappointed when I tell you because your life may not change after reading it.
Whenever I read a book review in a magazine, I would think, 'Here I am spending my money to buy books. But these people earn money by writing book reviews for newspapers and magazines!' Do you understand the message? Reading Books need not be just a spending activity. It can be an earning activity as well. A large number of books are published and many books go unnoticed. You can write reviews of some of the books you read and get them published by magazines. Don't worry that your review will not be accepted. By developing your own style of review and making your review interesting, you can make magazines accept your reviews. You have to do some research about what books to review and which magazines to target. But once you get the opening, there will be no let up in your success.
The all-important starting point will be take it really slowly, don't try to read ten books at a time. You should do this because when you try to go into a new habit by overwhelming yourself you will most definitely fail. You should avoid rushing the whole process and take it one step at a time.
The place is actually small like you can see and count all the people coming in and inside the bookstore. I just didn't find it comfortable enough to read a book while the owner was there manning the store-or perhaps it was because it's just the first time I went there and I need some warming up to do. But the owner was nice enough to answer our questions and allow as to take pictures.
